"There are righteous men to whom it happens according to the deeds of the wicked, and there are wicked men to whom it happens according to the deeds of the righteous" Ecclesiastes 6:15, 8:14 and others.

No, there is no assurance of "payback" or retribution in this life. Quite the reverse.

The bible says "Judge not lest you be judged," which basically means it is not man's role to judge the actions of others. Regarding "while they are still alive?" the bible says that God reserves judgement until death, which allows for confession and forgiveness. So, remember judging another is not for man, therefore, wondering if/when God is going to punish someone would be very unChristian.

A person can expect to harvest the fruit of their behavior, just as farmers expect to harvest their crops. People who “sow’” kindness and goodness to others, will be rewarded (on earth and in heaven). Those who sow bitterness may face punishment.

It’s sweet, they get It…and You are Rewarded as long as you stay in the right! Read Psalm 1, Psalm 27, Psalm 37 and Psalm 51…Then turn right over there to Job Chapter One and The Devils challenge also read the Last Chapter of Job….That should fix it! God Rewarded Job in front of all his enenmies.

"You reap what you sow"

The words reap and sow come from farming. Sow is to plant seeds. Reap is to gather what has grown from the seeds.

So if you plant good seeds then you will gather good produce. If you plant bad seeds then you will gather bad produce. Obviously when farming – sun-light, water, and soil are factors in the health of your produce, but in general I think you can understand the purpose of the saying.

In gardening, farmers (or gardeners of any type) sow (plant seed) and hopefully reap (grow, result in) a harvest. The verse is a very general principle that when someone plants seeds, they will reap that which they have planted. A person who plants tomato seeds will not reap pumpkins. If one is 'sowing seeds' of hate and bitterness, they will not receive blessing in return. If someone plants seeds of worthlessness in their child, low self-esteem will result. If you constantly speak words of negativity over your life, that is what will happen. I think you get the idea.

People get punished for all bad deeds whether they hurt someone else in the process or not.

But God DOES forgive and so should you. The bible talks about punishment a lot, but it also talks about forgiveness a lot.
